NBA Playoffs Round 2 Update:
It’s fair to say that as Basketball fans, we have been spoilt by the start of these second round series.
Giannis has led the Bucks back from an opening loss in the series to a 2-1 lead, showing he is the MVP of the league. He’s showing that he’s just about unguardable once he gets going to the rim.
Giannis is averaging 30+ points and 10+ rebounds for the series, to go along with just over 4 assists a game also. It’s clear he has his finger prints all over this series and won’t let this big opportunity the Bucks have get away from them.
It’s a must win for Boston coming up, and Kyrie needs his running buddies to come along with him. Jayson Tatum has been a shadow of the man who was so brilliant in his rookie season, he must step up for them to win Game 4.
Philly had a huge opportunity to go up 3 games to 1, but slipped up at home, and given the Raptors control in this series. Kawhi Leonard is showing us why he will be one of the hottest signatures in demand this off season, single-handedly winning the game this morning, going for 39 Points and 14 Rebounds.
Kawhi has been on another level in the post season, averaging a ridiculous 38 PPG, and like Giannis in his series, Philly haven’t found an answer to slowing him down.
Now it turns into a 3 game series, and Philly need a lift if they are going to go into Toronto and steal another one. Embiid isn’t healthy (given he almost missed Game 4 with a Virus) and Simmons really needs to up his game if this team is going to progress to the Eastern Conference Finals, as he is being exposed defensively in the playoffs.
Out West the heavyweight battle has been one of the best Second Round series in recent memory. Golden State and Houston are going at it, with two of the best players on the planet showing us why this series was billed to be the “Real NBA Finals”.
James Harden and Kevin Durant are on a tear. Since Durant’s “You know who I am” statement, he’s gone on to torch the Clippers, as well as seemingly carry Golden State to a 2-1 lead against Houston. Houston are throwing everything at him but it hasn’t mattered, he’s in a zone, and no hand to the grill is stopping him.
Harden put the Rockets on his back in Game 3, still dealing with the effects of his Red Eyes, Harden saw Red and made some huge plays down the stretch to keep the Rockets fire burning heading into Game 4.
As all Basketball Fans want, this series deserves to go to 7.
Speaking of incredible series that has almost gone unnoticed, Denver and Portland are locked up at 2 games apiece, with Jamal Murray’s heroics lifting Denver to a gutsy Game 4 win.
Coming off a 4OT Thriller, you could almost forgive both teams for a sluggish Game 4 in Portland. But it was the complete opposite.
Seth Curry was brilliant in the opening half (yes, he is playing like the better Curry in the post season and there’s almost no doubt about that), as Lillard struggled through the opening 3 quarters of the game.
Lillard came alive in the last along with McCollum, but they weren’t alone. Huge plays from Jokic and role players like Gary Harris and Will Barton having a big say down the stretch to give Denver the upset win.
Wins by Boston and Houston tomorrow will have us staring down the barrel of all 4 series locked up at 2-2, so let’s pray to the Basketball Gods this is the case tomorrow to keep this great stretch of hoops going through Round 2!
