The 1996-97 season was the beginning of the Jeff Van Gundy era for the NY Knicks. The face of New York basketball, Patrick Ewing led New York in points, rebounds and blocks.
The Knicks wore this 50s throwback jersey in the November 1 game versus Toronto, paying homage to the very first NBA game between the two teams.

The NBA logo appears in gold, commemorating the NBA's 50th Anniversary season.
