NBA Cup Preview

NBA Cup Preview

The NBA Cup kicks off tomorrow and has plenty of hoops fans excited.

The new format came in last season and brought new life to a long, gruelling NBA Season with extra incentive to play for early in the season.

The Lakers were victorious in last year’s final in Vegas, and will look to go back to back to add another impressive point on the resume of LeBron James, especially winning a title with his son!

Boston will look to be the first team ever to win an NBA Title and back that up with an NBA Cup, and after losing to the Pacers last season in the Qtr Finals, they’ll have a chip on their shoulder to get to Vegas this year.

Boston face off against the Cavaliers in their group, who are playing the best basketball they’ve played in a very long time, still unbeaten at 12-0.

The biggest game of the day goes down in San Francisco tomorrow, as the Splash Brothers hit the same court together for the first time as opponents.

Klay Thompson returns to face the Warriors for the first time in what’s sure to be a very emotional opening tip, and there may not be a dry eye in the arena given the brilliant time the Warriors had with Klay on their roster.

They may very well both fill it up tomorrow, along with Golden States newest Splash Brother from the Bahamas - Buddy Hield.

Hield has had the ultimate green light off the bench, along with new running buddy off the pine Johnathan Kuminga, who have the Warriors atop the Pacific Division at 8-2.

Dallas have been up and down to start the year, but have been led very well once again by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. With the Mavs runners up last year in the NBA Finals, they’ll want to add a piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet and start well in the cup here.

Younger teams or teams that know they may be just out of reach to make a real run at things in the NBA Finals will turn the NBA Cup into their “NBA Finals”, which makes this tournament must watch hoops.

Predictions:

Sacramento or Dallas to Win the NBA Cup/make the Semi Finals

Indiana to make the Semi Finals

Enjoy the magic of the NBA Cup!
