Golden State Chase History

Golden State Chase History
Golden State and Boston will open up proceedings in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Friday morning and it’s sure to have some fireworks!
Golden State will be chasing their own piece of history come Friday, playing their first ever NBA Finals game in their new arena.

Golden State made Oracle Arena their home for many years, and fans in Oakland were blessed with some brilliant basketball and memories.
“Roaracle” as it was referred to, was a fortress for the Warriors, as the home fans drowned out any chance away teams had.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were ones to conquer Roaracle in one of the most memorable Game 7s in NBA Finals history.
Now this Golden State team has a chance to make their mark in the newly built Chase Arena and hang their first banner against the young and hungry Boston Celtics team.

This series is a match up heaven for NBA Fans.
The brilliance of Steph Curry up against Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart.
Many had some doubts over Smart being awarded Defensive Player of the Year, but this match up will go a long way in deciding the series!
If Smart puts the clamps on Steph and Boston win the Series, look for him to have his name called with Finals MVP honours.

Klay Thompson and Jaylen Brown is another big match up.
Brown has been huge in the playoffs for the Celtics, and is now matched up against one of the NBA’s elite defenders in Klay Thompson.
Klay was one of the best two way players in the league prior to 2 big injuries (ACL and Achilles), and will no doubt have a huge say in how this series ends on both ends of the floor.

All-Star Starter Andrew Wiggins goes toe to toe with Jayson Tatum.
Boston only go as far as Tatum will take them offensively, so it’ll be up to Wiggins to stop him here.
Tatum may very well see the likes of Klay or Draymond as well in this series, as this Warriors team is known for throwing multiple bodies at the opposition’s best player.

After 141 Playoff Games, Al Horford makes his long awaited NBA Finals debut, in a match up with ultimate trash talker Draymond Green.
The heart and soul of the Warriors takes on the father figure of the Celtics, and old school basketball fans will love this match up.
Neither player may light up the stat sheet, but both are crucial to the outcome of this series with their strong defensive play.

Another battle of unsung heroes, Kevon Looney (Kareem-Abdul Looney) takes on Rob Williams.
Looney has been incredible in the playoffs, an absolute monster on the glass, and will need to be once again against a strong Celtics front line.
Rob Williams has been hobbled in the playoffs, but the Celts need him against a team that has dominated the glass against their opponents so far.

As dominant as the Warriors have been in the playoffs, this series is going to go down to the wire.
A shot or two may decide this series, and hopefully we see this thing go to 6 or 7 games to finish off what has been a great season!
