Lakers One Win Away From Glory

Lakers One Win Away From Glory
The Los Angeles Lakers are one win away from Championship Glory and they’re using their secret weapon tomorrow to finish off the Heat.

The Lakers are wearing their Mamba inspired Black and Gold jerseys in which they are 4-0 in the playoff bubble whilst wearing those.
How fitting it would be for the Lakers to win the title wearing these jerseys, for LeBron to be presented with the Finals MVP, and for LeBron to utter the words “KOBE….THIS IS FOR YOU!” (Alas his Finals win in Cleveland with the famous words of “CLEVELAND…THIS IS FOR
YOU).

Miami doesn’t deserve to lose 4-1. They’ve played some exceptional basketball during this bubble experience. They’ve been gallant in every defeat (bar game 1), while also overcoming the injuries to their stars Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo. It’s a shame. It’s like saying the Lakers will be without Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo for 2-3 games, it just wouldn’t be the same. Unfortunately, that’s sport and injuries are all a part of the game, they’ve just come at the worst possible time for Miami.

Bam Adebayo came back in Game 4 and did his job, chipping in with 15 points and 7 rebounds, while also doing a number on Anthony Davis on the other end of the floor.

Goran Dragic is doing everything possible to be back for Game 5, but you get the feeling it’ll be too big an injury to overcome.
Jimmy Butler has been nothing short of amazing dealing with the loss of their other two superstars, with a 40 Point triple-double and a win in Game 3, as well as following that up in Game 4 with another near triple-double (1 assist shy).

The argument that Jimmy Butler can’t be that guy to lead his team is now long gone. They’ll be a problem over the next few years, particularly with the cash they have to spend this coming offseason and the emergence of their young studs Herro and Bam.

That’s not to say they’re done with just yet, as this team has zero quit in them.

LeBron James has gone about his business in the NBA Finals, and it’s incredible to think that his Game 4 performance was considered sub-par putting up 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. It’s just what you come to expect from LeBron, which he’s why he’s a short favourite
to win another Finals MVP and extend his NBA Finals record to 4-6.

As great as it would be to see the Lakers win the NBA Championship in their Mamba jerseys, most NBA fans want to see more basketball, and this series deserves at the very least to go 6 games (and give Miami a chance to get Dragic back, albeit not at 100%).

Here’s to more hoops!
