Mr Triple Double

Mr Triple Double

History has been made as Russell Westbrook is now the  NBA’s sole leader in Triple Doubles  recorded, over taking Oscar Robertson with 182 Triple Doubles!

Westbrook recorded 28 Pts, 13 Rbs and 21 Asts (ludicrous) in Atlanta today becoming the NBA’s all-time leader in Triple Doubles, and to those that hate on this man, take a  good hard look at yourselves.

He willed his team from 17 down in the last Qtr with no Beal, missing a game winning shot at the buzzer, in what would have been an enormous win for a Wizards team looking to lock up 9th spot in the East.

Some say he  stat pads, and that it’s so easy in today’s game to go out and get their numbers.

If it was so easy, every player would go out and just get whatever they want on any given night.

Westbrook has averaged 22.0 PPG, 11.6 RPG and 11.5 APG, and is a huge reason why these Wizards have made a move into the Play-In late in the season.

In  4 out of the last 5 seasons, Westbrook has gone on to  average a triple double!

What makes that so absurd, Oscar Robertson was the only other player to do this, but only doing so in 1 season!

Westbrook has been questioned many times in his career, with some calling him  selfish, and one of the main reasons as to why OKC had to part ways with Kevin Durant and James Harden.

It’s hard to fathom those calling Russ selfish, given he has a career average of 8.5 APG.

Russ will do whatever it takes to win. He  will never quit on his team, which you can’t say the same for a lot of other superstars in this league, and you’d take those guys on your squad over a lot of others throwing the towel in!

He falls in the category of guys you wish would win an  NBA Championship before they retire, with the likes of Chris Paul, Derrick Rose and Steve Nash among others who have put it all out there on the court for their teams, never to win an NBA Title.

There’s every chance he has over 300 by the time his career is said and done, a statistic that may never be reached again.

One player who’s young enough to potentially get near this over the course of time would be  LaMelo Ball, and they may very well be playing off to make the Playoffs this season!

Here’s hoping we get Westbrook and Beal into the Playoffs this season, as they are one of the  hottest teams in the league of late on the back of their brilliant point guard play!
