NBA All-Star Predictions

NBA All-Star Predictions
NBA All-Star Weekend rolls around on Monday morning, and the city of Atlanta will be buzzing to have the greatest athletes in the game put on a show for all to see!

Team LeBron faces off against Team Durant, unfortunately, we won’t get to see KD lace them up this year, but his GM skills are on full display selecting a host of stars to take down the King’s team! Durant has gone ahead and drafted a team who wants to win this game and aren’t there just for the show.

LaVine, Zion, and Julius Randle, all first-time All-Stars will be looking to go all out to get a W in their first all-star appearance. As well as Bradley Beal who makes his first All-Star start of his career.

Add to this Embiid, Kawhi, Harden, and Booker, aren’t coming here to waste their time, they’ll be winning this game. LeBron and Giannis (on the same team) have openly said they don’t necessarily care too much about the All-Star game itself this year with all that’s going on in America (...COVID), so their desire to play late game minutes and get a win in this one may not be a top priority.

One player who can help Team LeBron get this win is Damian Lillard.
Lillard will stake his claims for MVP honours, as will the likes of Embiid and Devin Booker!

The Slam Dunk contest is taking place at Half Time of the big game this year, and some young stars have put their hands up in this year’s event. Cassius Stanley of the Indiana Pacers is the short-priced favourite to take home the crown, but the Knicks' very own Obi Toppin is the one most of us can’t wait to see. Toppin showcased his incredible athleticism in his last season at Dayton but has been hampered with an early season injury this year in New York.

If he shows us anything like his in-game dunking skills at Dayton, we are in for quite a show. Anfernee Simons rounds out the field, and the young guard from Portland will be out to show the world that he’s more than just a shooter!

The Skills competition is taking place before the big game, and as we’ve seen in years past, this is anyone’s to win. Point GOD himself Chris Paul and Luka Doncic head the field of contestants this year, and it’s hard to see either of them not taking this event out.

If you’re looking for a Smokey in the big man department, look no further than another New York Knick in the field, Julius Randle, to represent the big men in the final round.

The 3 Point shoot-out is always everyone’s favourite event, as unlike the Dunk Comp, some of the best shooters in the game are taking part this year in Atlanta. Steph Curry leads an extremely strong field, with Devin Booker (previous record-holder), Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, Zach LaVine, and Jayson Tatum all participating.

Curry is the favourite to take the trophy back home to San Fran, but this is a situation Devin Booker loves, coming in as the underdog (or as LeBron calls him “The most disrespected athlete in the game”) and taking home the silverware.

We could see some records broken with this field!
