NBA Eve – New Season, Next Level

NBA Eve – New Season, Next Level
The NBA Season is finally upon us, as we get started with opening day tomorrow!
A lot has changed since our season previews, with the Celtics losing their head coach for the season, as well as some training blow ups at the Warriors!

Speaking of the Celtics, they host the Philadelphia 76ers to kick off the NBA season in what’s always a hot battle!
Joel Embiid and the Sixers have been the talk of the off season, with James Harden taking a pay cut to add some extra troops to the lineup.
P.J. Tucker comes into the fray this season for Philly, and he’s exactly the hard-nosed type of player that Philly fans will come to love!
Enough with the excuses for Philadelphia, it’s time for Joel Embiid to lead this team deep into the playoffs for a run at the NBA Championship!

Boston, who are favourites to come out of the East, lost Head Coach Ime Udoka for the season, so there’s definitely some question marks around this team.
There’s no doubting Boston are still one of the deepest teams in the league, but losing their leader who took them to the NBA Finals may have some ramifications.
They’ll be without Rob Williams for an extended period also, and that’ll have Embiid licking his lips on opening night.
The Celtics added Malcolm Brogdon to give them much needed help in the backcourt, with Brogdon able to provide them with another scoring option outside of Brown and Tatum.
Blake Griffin was also added to the mix for the Celtics, and will look to play some minutes early in the season without big Rob Williams.
The Celtics won’t want to take a backwards step after last season’s NBA Finals run, but lack of leadership may be of concern especially to start the season with a new coach stepping in late.

Golden State will raise their championship banner and look to knock out their opponents, not their teammates, on opening night against the Lakers.
Steph, Klay and Draymond will receive their 4th Championship rings, and they’ll hope to get
their championship defence off to a flyer.
Draymond and Jordan Poole had a mix up in practice, with Draymond laying one on Poole which caused a circus on the talk show scene.

They’ll look to sweep that under the rug, with LeBron and AD coming to town to put Lakers basketball back on the map.
Golden State lost some bodies in the off season but gained James Wiseman back in their lineup, along with handy pick up Donte DiVincenzo.

It’s an odd mix for the Lakers this season with Russell Westbrook and Pat Beverley in the backcourt, hustle being a big part of that back court to make up for the lack of shooting.
Lonnie Walker was added to the Lakers lineup and will start alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis in the front court, who they hope will finally be healthy this season.
The Lakers will go as far as LeBron and AD can take them, and if either can’t stay on the court, it’s going to be a long season for the purple and gold.
Depth is a major issue for the Lakers, and lack of scoring options may also hurt this team.
They look to be a Play-In team at best in a loaded Western Conference.

It’s the Lakers cross town rivals who still look the best this season, with the Clippers at full health in what seems like the first time in 2 years.
Paul George and Kawhi head up a Clippers team looking to bring a title to Clippers faithful, and are very well supported!
Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris and Ivica Zubac close out their starting lineup, and their bench is stacked!
John Wall, Norman Powell, Luke Kennard, Nic Batum, Rob Covington and Terance Mann just to name a few, this team has what it takes to go all the way!
All eyes will be on them for their opening clash with the Lakers on Friday, as Crypto (shivers) will be full of all the Hollywood stars for the night of nights in Tinseltown!

Other notable match ups on opening week:
Dallas head back to the scene of the crime in Phoenix on Thursday in what is sure to be an intriguing matchup.
Dallas picked up Christian Wood in the offseason, and Dallas hope that they finally have a piece to help out Luka Doncic.
They didn’t need Wood in their last meeting with the Suns, embarrassing them on their home floor and booting them from the 2nd round of the West Playoffs.
Phoenix have been a mess all off-season, with the Ayton contract talks dragging on (and poor attitude), as well as Jae Crowder loudly saying he didn’t want to be there, it’s sure to be one to watch!

New Orleans travel to Brooklyn for their opening clash of the season, and fans are hopeful Zion Williamson’s injury won’t keep him out of this contest.
It’s sure to be a fun one, with Ben Simmons making his Nets debut alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
The scoreboard attendant may be busy in this contest!

It’ll be hot in the kitchen to start the season, and we can’t wait for some NBA action!
It’s a new season, so who’s ready to go to the next level?

What match up are you looking forward to the most to start the season??
