After a very entertaining NBA Playoffs, the moment has come to crown a champion!
Phoenix and Milwaukee tip off tomorrow morning in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and it couldn’t come soon enough for those of us in lock down!
The biggest question mark in the NBA Finals surrounds Milwaukee Superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo.
Giannis is listed as doubtful for Game 1, and one would think if the Bucks are able to steal the opening game of this series, he may very well be out again Game 2 to rest up for the next 2 games in Milwaukee.
Even without Giannis in the line-up, this proves to be a very even contest, with Milwaukee matching up with Phoenix just as well without their MVP.
The Guard match-up is mouth-watering in itself, with All-Stars Devin Booker and Chris Paul going head to head with defensive monster Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.
Holiday has shown just how valuable he is to this Bucks team, and why they gave up so much to get him, as he will be tasked with stopping this star studded Phoenix back court.
Chris Paul was at his vintage CP3 best in the close out game 6 against the Clippers, and Phoenix will need all of that if they are to knock off the Bucks in this contest, especially getting wins on the board while Antetokounmpo is missing in action.
The world is finally getting to see the beauty that is Devin Booker, with the young superstar getting his first taste of playoff basketball this season and not disappointing!
Booker has been phenomenal in his first playoff action, but will have to work for every basket against the likes of Holiday in this series.
Nothing in the playoffs come easy, as in the Western Conference Finals it was Pat Bev thrown at him, now Jrue Holiday stands in his way to win an NBA Championship!
Phoenix will look to try and punish Milwaukee on the pick and roll, with the quicker and agile DeAndre Ayton going up against Brook Lopez.
Getting into their offence earlier, in particular getting Lopez in action against Ayton, will be key for the Suns, as getting bogged down in a half-court offence only suits this tougher Bucks defence.
PJ Tucker may be another tasked with guarding Booker or Paul, which will open things up offensively for Middleton to run the show and get his team much needed buckets without the services of the Greek Freak.
This series has 7 games written all over it, and may very well hinge on the health of Giannis.
All in all, it’s just great to see team basketball back in the NBA, and these two teams are the best at it!
Finals prediction
Bucks in 7 – Jrue Holiday Finals MVP
